Abstract

Let TeX Embedding failed!. It is known that the solutions of the functional equation

TeX Embedding failed!

form an either zero- or one-dimensional subspace of the space of TeX Embedding failed!-functions with support on TeX Embedding failed!. Moreover, for all TeX Embedding failed! the first case obtains, while for almost all (but not all) TeX Embedding failed! the second case holds. The TeX Embedding failed! can be formulated as the problem to find those values of TeX Embedding failed! for which a non-trivial TeX Embedding failed!-solution exists. In the talk, we present some ideas for the case where TeX Embedding failed! is a rational number.
